YOUNGSTERS from Millfields First School in Bromsgrove tried their hand at newspaper writing as part of their topic on fossils.
And Standard editor Tristan Harris went into the school to talk to both year three classes about how the paper was researched, written and edited each week and to offer them some tips on how they could put their pieces together.
To begin with Tristan spoke about a fossil discovery and the children quizzed him about the find. Later in the week they used the information they had gleaned to write their articles.
Teacher Lucy Thomson said the experience really brought the topic to life.
“The children absolutely loved it and got a lot out of it.
“They had fun asking the questions and writing their stories.”
