BROMSGROVE’S Maxi Deals shop has shut after less than eight months in the town.
Shocked shoppers contacted the Standard after seeing the ’20 per cent off – closing down’ signs on Saturday, January 27.
The signs informed people the closure was with immediate effect.
Maxi Deals opened in the former Iceland building in Mill Lane after the discount supermarket shut its smaller store and told everyone to go to the Iceland Food Warehouse on the retail park.
Maxi Deals created between 12 and 15 jobs to staff the store.
Back when it opened, bosses said they were looking forward to opening in Bromsgrove, adding they had been trying to get a store in the town for two years.
The Standard has contacted Maxi Deals to ask the reasons surrounding the closure. We are awaiting reply.
