THERE has been no passing of the chains in Bromsgrove this year as previous chair, Coun Sam Ammar has retained her role.

The chair of Bromsgrove District Council has announced Age UK’s Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest Branch will remain as her chosen charity.

At last night’s Annual Council meeting Coun Bakul Kumar was also re-appointed as Vice-Chair for the second year running.

Coun Ammar said: “This is an absolute honour and I thank my fellow councillors for putting their faith in me once again.

“I am looking forward to the year ahead, to continue to get out into our District and meet the people, businesses and organisations who help to make Bromsgrove such an exciting place to live.

“Supporting our local Age UK branch for another year is also a privilege and I look forward to planning exciting fundraising events over the next 12 months.
