A BROMSGROVE cake-making company has been celebrating its 20th anniversary this weekend.
Cake Magic was created on May 21, 2003, by Jo Duffin in a small room on the first floor of The Strand Centre.
More room was soon needed so the business extended into the next room when it became available.
A few years later the firm moved across the road to a much larger premises at 21 The Strand where it remained for ten years.
When the lease expired – in January 2021 – Cake Magic moved to its current location across the courtyard.
Jo said: “Despite Covid, we managed to survive and are still going strong.
“We would like to thank all of our customers who have supported us over the last 20 years and continue to do so.
“Also we are finding we are providing wedding cakes for customers who we made their fifth and sixth birthday cakes.
“This is very gratifying and we are delighted to have been a part of their celebrations for so long.”
Cake Magic hopes to be able to continue for many years to come.
In honour of the business’ 20th anniversary, a rafflle was held with the main prize being a £100 Cake Magic voucher and three treat boxes as runner-up prizes.
A total of £284 was raised for Parkinson’s UK and Cancer Research in memory of Jo’s mum. She was a massive part of starting up Cake Magic who everyone sadly lost late last year.
Jo said: “Thank you so much to everyone who bought raffle tickets – it’s been a very busy week with lots of lovcly customers sharing our 20th birthday celebrations – here’s to the next 20.”
