Bromsgrove's Butcher's Block through to Birmingham Awards final for second year running

Bromsgrove Editorial 4th Oct, 2024   0

BROMSGROVE’S Butcher’s Block has made it through to the final of this year’s Birmingham Awards but they need Standard readers’ help.

Michelle and Lilith Holsey-Sheppard have been shortlisted in the ‘Best Independent Retailer’ category for the second year running and are the only traditional butchers again up for the award.

This particular award has three different aspects in its judging process and is considered one of the hardest categories to win.

Judges will meet on Tuesday, October 8, and the public voting section is now open.

Visit birminghamawards.co.uk/vote-now/ and click on the Independent Retailer tab to vote.

Cash for good causes

Butcher’s Block has also revealed it raised £1,000 for local good causes through the raffle it held during its celebration of six years on the High Street.

Each year, Michelle and Lilith put on a charity raffle for their anniversary and this year’s has been one of their highest amounts raised yet.

The pair have split the funds between The Basement Project, The Hub Bromsgrove and Ladies Fighting Breast Cancer to ensure the cash goes back into the local community.

This year there was 24 prizes given away which included a £50 spend in store.

Michelle said: “We are over the moon with the amount raised this year and want to thank everyone who donated prizes.”
