BROMSGROVE’s annual St George’s Day celebration returns to the High Street this year and promises to be better than ever before.
Residents are being invited to celebrate England’s patron saint with a number of performances, activities and displays on Saturday, April 20.
International singer Lucy Williams, whose repertoire includes pop, rock and jazz music, will take to the stage to entertain visitors.
She will be joined by local groups Artrix Songstars Choir and Blackwell Wind Band.
Val Wilson, events officer at Bromsgrove District Council, said: “Our annual St George’s Day event is always very popular and this year will be no different.
“There is lots going on so if you’re looking for something to do with your children then bring them down to the High Street because it’s perfect timing with the Easter school holiday.”
Children will be able to get stuck into craft activities, have their faces painted and enjoy performances by Punch and Judy and circus act Steve Kaos.
Val added: “Their may even be some ‘real’ knights in attendance as Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table or rather – the stars of Studley Operatic Society’s Spamalot – will also be performing and walking the high street.”
There event, which runs from 12pm to 4pm, will also have a range of classic cars on display.
