AGE UK has announced its pop-up shop on Bromsgrove High Street will shut tomorrow (Saturday, November 23).
But the charity has revealed plans to open a permanent shop in the town.
The news on closing the store at 113 High Street comes after the sale of the building in March this year.
The shop provided Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forest (BRWF) with the opportunity to have a dedicated furniture shop, along with a High Street presence.
Age UK BRWF’s CEO Amanda Allen said: “We are so very grateful for all the support that our High Street shop has received since it opened.
“In addition to playing an important role in helping to grow our retail income, so that we can continue providing much-needed local services for older people living in North Worcestershire. Having a physical presence on the high street has also helped with raising awareness of our local work and our ability to engage with members of the community.”
But the charity said, while it was sad to be closing the shop, it was also pleased to announce it would be opening a new permanent shop in the former Shoe Zone building on Bromsgrove High Street.
“We are not yet in a position to confirm an opening date, but we hope to get the keys for the new shop very soon.
“In the meantime, there are going to be some amazing bargains to be had at our High Street store, plus we have six additional shops across North Worcestershire so please do continue to shop and donate and to help make a difference for local older people.”
