Bromsgrove urged to write their wills and help charity

Bromsgrove Editorial 2nd Oct, 2022   0

BROMSGROVE residents writing their wills are being urged to take advantage of a money-saving charity campaign.

Law firms across the country are volunteering throughout November to write basic wills in exchange for Will Aid donations.

The annual campaign suggests donations of £100 for a single will and £180 for a pair of mirror wills, which is lower than most normal solicitor fees.

AConveyancing is among the local firms taking part in the campaign, raising £4,300 last year.

Peter de Vena Franks, Campaign Director for Will Aid, said: “The last couple of years have been exceptionally challenging for people, and the cost-of-living crisis has unfortunately added to that.

“While the challenges may have changed, one thing that remains the same is the importance of having a will in place to protect your wishes.

“This document can provide support to the loved ones you leave behind, as well as causes close to you through legacies.”

Residents can find a Will Aid solicitor by entering their postcode on the campaign website.

Will Aid has helped 340,000 people with their wills since launching in 1988, raising more than £22million for charity.

The money raised by Will Aid will go to charities including ActionAid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid and the NSPCC.
