A SMASHING £1,000 has been raised for the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust Charity from a raffle served up by Bromsgrove Tennis Club.

Coaches from the club organised the prize draw for health-themed prizes to support the good work the trust is carrying out during the Coronavirus crisis.

And the cash was presented to community fund-raising officer Nicky Langford by the club’s head coach James Griffiths.

He said: “We are delighted to have raised so much for such a worthwhile cause and are very grateful to all the local businesses such as Solid Soul Fitness who generously donated such great prizes.

“And of course a huge thank you to everyone who supported the raffle by buying tickets.”

Nicky added she was grateful to the tremendous support from the club – both for the raffle and sourcing the prizes.

“This further demonstrates the passion and commitment of the people of Worcestershire in supporting our patients and staff through this pandemic.”

Bromsgrove Tennis Club is based at St Godwalds Road in Aston Fields and welcomes all new members, whatever their age or ability.

Annual membership starts from £47 for juniors.
