TEN young swimmers from Bromsgrove Swimming Club represented their team at the West Midlands Regional Championships this year, with three swimmers making finals in their events.
The championships held in Coventry on April 29 and 30 and May 1, 7 and 8 brings together the best swimmers from across the West Midlands in a competition to become the regions fastest.
Bromsgrove Swimming Club’s efforts in the West Midlands Regional championships come on the back of their success in the Worcestershire County Championships recently.
Oliver, 14, competed in four events and raced in three finals, Lizzie, 12, also competed in four events and raced in one final, missing out on a medal by a finger tip and Sophia, 13, competed in three events making one final.
Emily, 11, qualified for an impressive seven events, with James, 12, swimming in four events and swimmers Miles, 12, and Luke, 18, competed in two events.
Ella, 12, and Iseoluwa, 13, both competed in one event.
Swimmer, Ethan, aged 10, qualified for two events but missed out on competing due to injury.
Head coach, Jacob Elliott said: “I’m extremely proud of our swimmers over the two weekends.
“I saw a team that was together in supporting one another and the effort that every single one of our swimmers put into their races was amazing to see.
“The progression from the start of the year for all our swimmers has massively improved.
“For any swimmer to gain qualification to the Regional Championships is an achievement in itself.
“So the credit goes to the swimmers themselves for the hard work they put in every day with training and to my coaching and teaching staff in developing all of our swimmers.”
