STAFF at Bromsgrove Sport and Leisure Centre are celebrating after the facility was rated ‘very good’ for service quality in a recent inspection.
The centre, run by Everyone Active in partnership with Bromsgrove District Council, underwent a rigorous one-day Quest assessment before being given the grading.
Quest is a continuous improvement tool for leisure facilities and sports development teams and is managed by Right Directions on behalf of Sport England.
Bromsgrove Sport and Leisure Centre scored highly in many areas within the mystery visit and formal assessment elements.
These included tackling inequalities, customer journey, operational management, managing the team, environmental management and statutory declaration.
The report particularly praised the standard of lifeguarding at the centre, giving it an ‘excellent’ score.
Everyone Active’s contract manager, Benjamin Betteridge, said: “We’re delighted with the outcome of the Quest assessment and believe it’s testament to the hard work of the team.”
“To be recognised for not only operational success, but also the positive impact the centre has on the local community, makes us really proud.
“At Everyone Active, we’re committed to providing quality facilities for all ages, abilities and interests, and we hope the local community can feel confident knowing their leisure centre has this added stamp of credibility.”
Bromsgrove District Council’s portfolio holder for leisure, councillor Bernard McEldowney, welcomed the news.
He added: “This rating will reassure visitors that BSLC can provide not only the facilities to support this, but will be a great experience for everyone too.
“I would also like to thank all members of staff at Bromsgrove Sport and Leisure Centre for the excellent service they continue to provide to the local community”.
