Bromsgrove Slimming World groups showcase their skills in sweet treats contest

Bromsgrove Editorial 6th Feb, 2020 Updated: 6th Feb, 2020   0

THERE were plenty of sweet treats on offer when two Bromsgrove Slimming World groups held a cake, dessert and pudding competition at their latest meeting.

The members get together every Wednesday evening at Catshill Village Hall with their consultant Tracey Gardner.

Standard editor Tristan Harris, a former colleague of Tracey’s, was invited to judge the low SYN and SYN-free creations last night.

By the end of the session, after trying almost 20 items, the winner was the Lemon Bundt Cake made by Pam Akers.

In second place was a Banoffee Pie baked by Cara Barnes and in third was a Black Forest roulade created by Michelle Thacker.

Other offerings included carrot cakes, ginger cake, pancakes, lemon cupcakes and coffee and walnut cakes.

Tracey said: “I couldn’t believe the amazing sight which greeted me when we arrived on Wednesday.

“I’m so proud of my members and all the cakes and desserts they had made.

“It proves Slimming World you don’t have to miss out and that you can have your cake and eat it.”

Tracey’s groups start at 5.30pm and 7.30pm at Catshill Village Hall every Wednesday.
