A BROMSGROVE home which provides short breaks for youngsters with learning and physical disabilities has received an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating.

Ofsted inspectors found the children’s overall experiences and progress to be ‘outstanding’ when attending the home, the name of which couldn’t be published on the report.

The home’s leaders, managers and staff were praised as being effective, while the registered manager was recognised for her ability to use her ‘extensive knowledge and expertise’ to continue to develop the service.

Other comments said the children had ‘great fun’ during their short breaks and make new friends who they shared a ‘wide range of experiences with.’

The inspection also found children and their families were ‘overwhelmingly positive’ about the service.

The home was praised for helping youngsters grow in confidence and self-esteem while managers and staff ensure they were kept safe.

Worcestershire children first’s chief executive Tina Russell said: “I am extremely proud of the whole team and the praise they have received from Ofsted.

“They create memories for the children and young people they care for and the home is having a positive impact on them.”
