STAFF and students at Bromsgrove School gathered to remember their 93 pupils who lost their lives in the First World War, writes Lauren Tiller.
Last Tuesday’s memorial saw a moving rendition of Danny Boy played by a student as the congregation were shown pictures of the pupils who had died in The Great War.
Previous deputy headmaster Philip Bowen gave a presentation based on his book ‘Bromsgrove School at War 1914-19’ accompanied by other staff members who performed songs from the time.
Among those who died were the three sons of Worcester brewing family The Spreckleys, and another three who were awarded the Victoria Cross.
One student had the school’s motto written on his gravestone.
