S&H Schoolwear and Sports in Bromsgrove has raised more than £1,000 for the Primrose Hospice and Family Support Centre by selling pre-loved uniforms for Bromsgrove schools.
Owners Helen and Simon Greaves launched the charity fund-raiser two years ago and relied on donations from the public for any used and unwanted badged Bromsgrove school uniforms to fill their ‘pre-loved uniform rail’.
Customers then purchased these items for a suggested donation price, offering some level of relief to parents with what is a big, often annual, expense.
All proceeds are then donated to Primrose Hospice.
Helen said: “It’s great to be able to give back to the community that has supported us over the years by providing a much-needed service to families in the current climate, whilst also raising money for Primrose.
“As a family, we have used hospice care and know just how important it is to have Primrose there when people need it.”
In addition to their charity efforts, S&H Schoolwear and Sports was accredited by the ‘National Autistic Society’ in 2020 for its services to provide children with autism a safe and quiet environment.
Helen offers an appointment-only service to enable children with autism to go to the shop at a designated time where there is less noise and activity.
