Bromsgrove pub to hold a chilli wing eating challenge for Children In Need

Bromsgrove Editorial 7th Nov, 2019   0

DARING diners can get hot under the collar for a good cause next weekend when a Bromsgrove pub holds a chilli wing eating challenge for Children In Need.

Pudsey the bear will be watching on at the Wildmoor Oak when the challenge takes place at 6pm next Saturday, November 16.

There will be eight wings with four different strengths of sauce, gradually getting hotter.

Those who successfully complete that challenge will make it through to the final where the sauce on the wings will be the ‘Inferno’.

The winner will be the person who consumes the most wings.

The Inferno sauce was created by Wildmoor Oak owner and award-winning Caribbean chef Lorenzo Richards and was featured on the Hot and Dangerous TV show.

People are being urged to sign up and get sponsored by friends and family to take on the challenge.

Lorenzo said: “The winner will be last man or woman standing after the wing challenge.

“We want as many people as possible to sign up so we can raise plenty of cash for the cause.”

Staff will be having a pyjama to boost the funds further and Children In Need will be broadcast on the big screen in the background.

At 9pm, after the wings challenge, there will be a disco to celebrate both Children In Need and the pub’s revamp as next weekend will be the opening event.

The Wildmoor Oak has new beers and a new two-for-one menu.
