Bromsgrove Editorial 26th Oct, 2023   0

THIS YEAR’S Bromsgrove Poppy Appeal has been launched by the town’s Royal British Legion group ahead of the Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday commemorations.

On Saturday, November 11, there will be an Armistice Day service starting around 10.50am by the Odd Fellows Memorial on the High Street.

Then on Sunday, November 12, the Remembrance Sunday parade and service will take place in the town centre and at the Crown Close War Monument.

Those wanting to take part should muster at the top end of the High Street by Argos at 10.20am, ready for the parade to step off at 10.40am.

Wreath bearers wishing to process with the Lord Lieutenant, or deputy, to the Odd Fellows Memorial to be part of the salute on behalf of The King should gather at Amphlett Hall at 10.15am.

The Bromsgrove RBL is appealing for volunteers to sell poppies between now and Remembrance Sunday.

Anyone wanting to volunteer, be involved in the parade or lay a Remembrance Sunday wreath should email Jeff Evans at [email protected] or call 07973 295972.
