BROMSGROVE photographer has teamed up with a local personal trainer to write a special book to help reduce the stigma around mental health.
‘The Mindset Triangle Book’, which will launch on May 14 to coincide with the start of Mental Health Awareness Week, is a ‘lifestyle guide’ focusing on sleep, healthy eating and exercise.
From extensive research, authors Henriette Lang and Stu Baker discovered people who seek to improve these three areas of their lives can enjoy improved mental wellbeing.
Sharing their own personal experiences of living with depression and mental illness, the book was developed with a scrap book style approach, with shopping lists and easy to follow recipes for healthy living, workout suggestions, tips for better sleep and interviews with high profile personalities.
Stu was diagnosed with depression and anxiety six years ago and for a long time felt too embarrassed to tell anyone about his condition.
He said: “Mastering that inner voice is often a challenge and lifting the duvet can often feel like a ten-tonne weight.
“Our book aims to make people’s life that little bit easier by helping them stick to the three mindset rules – exercise, sleep and healthy eating.”
