BROMSGROVE and Ombersley have been named among the best places to live in the UK.

The two areas have been named as one of only eight in Worcestershire to be named in the 2026 Muddy Stilettos 260 top places to live guide.

In the guide, Bromsgrove was described as a ‘thriving market town’ with a backdrop of rolling countryside.

The guide added: “Bromsgrove nails the sweet spot between buzz and breathing space.

“It has a lively indie high street packed with cafés, boutiques and bars, while fast links to Birmingham mean you’re within half an hour of big city delights.

“From top schools to a busy arts calendar and a weekly outdoor market, Bromsgrove is a town with lots of life, giving good value for your hard-earned pound.

“And when you need a nature fix, Clent and Walton Hills are just minutes away for scenic walks or cycling.

“Down-to-earth Bromsgrove has that winning mix of character, convenience and countryside charm.”

Ombersley, meanwhile, was described as quintessentially English yet brilliantly connected.

The guide added: “Ombersley delivers country charm with a side of convenience – Worcester and nearby cities are just minutes away.

“Regularly voted one of the UK’s most beautiful places to live, this black-and-white timbered gem has all the right credentials: excellent schools, a warm community spirit and glorious countryside on all sides.

“Foodies flock here for its standout deli and characterful pub, while families love the sensibly priced homes and lively, bunting-happy vibe that peaks with proper village celebrations.

“A laid-back little sister to buzzy Droitwich Spa, Ombersley is the dream mix of low-key luxe, good living and forever-home feels.”

The Muddy Stilettos guide selects 260 places from 31 different counties and regions across the UK, as well as featuring a ‘best of the rest’ category.

It gives insider intel on the loveliest city spots, towns and villages that feature the best schools, shopping and pubs.

The other Worcestershire areas to be featured were Bewdley, Bretforton, Broadway, Malvern, Tenbury Wells and Upton-Upon-Severn.
