A PENSIONERS’ Fair held by Bromsgrove MP Bradley Thomas has been hailed a great success after more than 200 older people turned out for the event.

The free event, which was sponsored by Excool, Right at Home and The Gables Care Home, took place last Thursday at the Ryland Centre in Bromsgrove for the first time.

The fair was ‘bigger and better than ever before’ and saw more than 40 exhibitors showcasing free information and advice and there was a pop-up cafe.

Mr Thomas said: “I got into politics to help people, and so I’m proud my Pensioners’ Fair helped more than 200 people in just one day, especially at a time when the cost of living continues to bite.”

He thanked everyone who made the event the success it was, especially the sponsors for making it possible and the exhibitors who gave up their time to be there.

“I look forward to hosting the Pensioners’ Fair next year and helping even more people.”

Duncan Williams, chief executive officer of Excool, said the company was proud to have once again sponsored the fair.

He added Excool had a long history of supporting the local community and he was delighted there was such a bumper turn-out.

Paul Turvey, from The Gables Care Home, said: “It was a real pleasure to attend and be one of the sponsors for this year’s fair.

“Events like this are so important in bringing the community together and providing valuable information and support for older people and their families.

“It was wonderful to see so many local organisations in one place, all sharing the same goal of supporting our community.”
