BROMSGROVE’S MP will soon be strapped to the top of a biplane to raise funds for a local hospice, writes Jeanna Karcz.
Bradley Thomas MP will complete his wing walk to raise £5,000 for Primrose Hospice & Family Support Centre, based in Bromsgrove.
Primrose hospice provides care to patients with life-limiting illnesses, also giving support to their families, within the North East Worcestershire area.
Bradley Thomas said: “This is a fundraising challenge I couldn’t say no to. Not only will it be a once in a lifetime experience, but more importantly it will hopefully raise thousands of pounds for an incredible charity.
“I’ve been supporting Primrose Hospice ever since I was first elected – and I really am taking my support to new heights.
“Any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated and will help Primrose to continue providing care and support to patients and their families.”
As an independent charity, they rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses to raise the £1.95 million needed each year to keep their services free.
David Burrell, chief executive of Primrose Hospice, said: “Bradley has been a committed champion for Primrose Hospice and our services, frequently visiting the Hospice and our shops and supporting our fundraising events.
“We are particularly excited to hear that he is now taking on the personal challenge of a wing walk to raise vital funds.
“This kind of dedication is truly inspiring and will help us continue to provide compassionate care and support to those facing life-limiting illnesses and bereavement in our community”.
The event will take place on Saturday, September 13 from a private airfield in Gloucestershire.
