Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid: 'There should be no complacency, despite vaccines'

Bromsgrove Editorial 23rd Jan, 2021   0

LAST Friday I held a meeting with local GP leaders about the vaccine rollout. Fantastic progress has been made.

I was told all eligible elderly care home residents have been vaccinated, as have approximately half of over 80s.

I know residents will share my gratitude to the GPs, nurses and volunteers for their brilliant work thus far.

Of course, we know the overall health picture remains extremely serious.

I have spoken with leaders from our local health services about the huge pressure that rising infection rates are putting on the NHS.

They are doing fantastic work, but it is clear that we must do all we can to tackle the new variant of this horrible virus.

We can make progress and turn the tide against this disease, but we need everyone to do their bit.

That’s why I urge residents to stay at home, protect the NHS and save lives.

As ever, if I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to get in touch by emailing at [email protected]
