A NEW wellbeing store celebrated its launch last Saturday with a visit from Bromsgrove MP Sajid Javid.
It was started by Faye Jones from The Daily Bread which has operated a studio on the Birmingham Road since July 2018.
The business offered mind and body classes, including yoga, pilates and mediation, along with physiotherapy sessions for athletic injuries and holistic therapies, but the Covid-19 crisis and restrictions meant it had to close in March.
Group classes are not likely to be back for the forseeable future because of social distancing and Faye has temporarily moved those online. But after benefiting from several Government support measures, including rates relief, a small business grant and a Bounce Back Loan, Faye has added a retail store for fitness equipment and accessories.
The Daily Bread now provides a variety of yoga and yogi lifestyle items, including mats and accessories, clothing and homewares and the store has already had some very positive feedback.
Faye said: “We have used our experience to bring together our very favourite independent brands, all showcasing what it means to be functional, ethical and beautiful.
“Early signs are very positive and we’re hoping local residents will support local, independent and sustainable businesses like ourselves.”
Mr Javid added he was happy to support the opening.
“I am delighted to visit this fantastic local business and support the opening of their new retail store.
“This has been a challenging period for local businesses, but as we relax lockdown restrictions and they safely reopen, they need our support.”
The Daily Bread, 72 Birmingham Road, opens Wednesday to Saturday.
