Bromsgrove District Council has been awarded £14.5m through the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.
The regeneration proposal submitted in July by North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration (NWedR), on behalf of Bromsgrove District Council, will see £14.5 invested into projects to improve Bromsgrove Town Centre.
Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid said:“I am delighted that we have secured a huge £14.5 million investment from the government’s Levelling Up Fund.
This funding will support the regeneration of the Town centre alongside providing a great boost to our local economy.
“I was re-elected to help level up and improve opportunities for people in Bromsgrove District.
“This investment – a product of teamwork with my Conservative colleagues at the District Council, and shows our power to deliver on the priorities of local residents and help build back better.”
Coun Karen May, Leader of Bromsgrove District Council said: “I am totally ecstatic that we have received this huge amount of funding. It is great news for Bromsgrove and means we can get on with making our vision, to massively enhance the prosperity and economic development of the District a wonderful reality.
“This has taken a lot of hard work from our officers and my fellow councillors and I want to thank everyone involved for this amazing outcome.”
“The project will deliver a mix of flexible commercial and cultural space to provide enterprise and innovation support for start-up businesses and businesses with growth potential and a multi-purpose space that will become a town centre destination.”
