A SECONDARY school in Rubery has been praised by the region’s MP for its ‘huge improvements’ in recent years.
Bromsgrove MP Bradley Thomas spent a day with Waseley High School’s principal Tom Preston to hear about the educational establishment’s progress with Ofsted.
The school, previously receiving a ‘requires improvement’ grade following watchdog inspection, has now achieved a ‘good rating in all areas of investigation.
During his visit, Mr Thomas was also taken on a tour of the school which is being completely rebuilt as part of the previous government’s School Rebuilding Programme.
In 2021, Waseley Hills was announced as one of just 50 schools across the country to benefit from the initial roll-out of the previous government’s £1 billion investment.
Mr Thomas said: “Waseley Hills High School has been on a huge improvement journey in recent years.
“Well done to Principal Tom Preston and all the teaching staff. It was inspiring to meet with Tom to hear firsthand about the journey the school has been on and his vision for the future.
“Education is fundamental to improving life chances, and every child and young person in Bromsgrove and the Villages deserves access to a first-class education.
“I’m determined to ensure our schools have the resources they need to achieve this.”
