BOOK-LOVERS who cannot get to Bromsgrove Library can now have them delivered straight to their door as part of a new scheme.
The Library Services At Home can drop off books of the library users’ choice and pick them up when they have finished reading them.
The service is also looking for volunteers to select, deliver and collect books to LHAS users and to chat to them on the phone about their literary likes and dislikes.
Library customer advisor, Jeanette Billington, said: “It is a fulfilling volunteering role that really makes a difference in our local community.
“Our LSAH customers give us details of the type of books they enjoy and our volunteers help to select on a monthly basis.
“Our delivery volunteers then pick up the bookbags from Bromsgrove Library and deliver to the customers at the end of each month.”
