A BROMSGROVE community nurse wins the ‘Rising Star’ award at the national Nursing Times Awards 2022.
Amy Turton, a learning disability (RNLD) nurse from Herefordshire, won the ‘Ann Shuttleworth Rising Star’ award at the glistening award ceremony on October 26.
Amy Turton, said: “I feel so valued, appreciated, and supported by my team and everyone around me.
“This award shines a light on the learning disability nursing profession and highlights the value of our work.”
The ‘Rising Star’ award recognises a nurse working in the NHS or independent sector who has been qualified for less than five years and has demonstrated exceptional qualities in nursing, such as compassionate care and leadership.
The awards are classed as one of the biggest community nursing events in Europe.
Kathryn Hankins, Community Services Manager for Learning Disabilities for the Trust, said: “Amy is a dedicated, energetic, and motivated nurse who has worked tenaciously to rise from her original role as a valued healthcare support worker.
“It is wonderful to have been able to share this event with her and watch her be recognised as the fantastic RNLD that she is”
