THERE will be festive food, drink and fun aplenty when a Christmas Street Party is held on Saturday to celebrate Bromsgrove’s independent businesses.
The showcase, coinciding with the lights switch-on, will take place from lunchtime on the Worcester Road which will be closed to traffic and feature street food vendors, bars, music and entertainment from the town and its surrounding areas.
Other attractions will include live art installations, DJ performances and traders, including Ollies Eatery, Bayleys of Bromsgrove, The Mexi Co and Dicks Smokehouse.
Businesses on the road will be open as usual, with nightclub 57 Monkeys opening its doors early to host a disco for all of the family.
Antony Hall, Photographer and member of Bromsgrove Independent Club said, “We hope to show that Bromsgrove has a thriving independent scene and can hold events similar to those taking place in Birmingham and Worcester.
“By supporting local businesses we can continue to give back to the local community, bringing them together by holding events such as this”
The Bromsgrove Independent Club is made up from representatives from a number of local businesses, including graphic designers, photographers and business owners from the Worcester Road.
The collective plans to host regular events in the town that bring together the local community and in turn, support local businesses.
The street party, after the inaugural one last year, takes place on Worcester Road between 2pm and 9pm and has something for all the family.
