Bromsgrove groups and charities urged to apply for community clean-up grants

Bromsgrove Editorial 3rd May, 2022   0

BROMSGROVE District and Redditch Borough Councils are urging residents to apply for the Community Clean Up grant to make a difference to their communities.

Round three of the grant is now open and is administered on behalf of the two councils by the Bromsgrove and Redditch Network (BARN) to help any charity or community groups within these two areas.

Other organisations eligible for funding include voluntary groups, community interest companies, Parish Councils, schools and school and parent teacher associations (PTAs).

Groups applying for the scheme must be able to demonstrate their ability to benefit their local communities through clean-up operations.

Ways in which community groups can have a positive impact on their communities include creating increased pride in local areas.

Grants will also be accepted for projects which bring neighbours together to work on a scheme, increase the number of local volunteers or enhance people’s social wellbeing.

BARN helps provide support and services to various community and voluntary sector organisations.

Applications for the grant will remain open until the deadline of 6pm on May 16.

Those who received funding in earlier rounds can bid again – provided its for a different project.

Previous projects must also have been completed before applying for a new grant.

People should visit barn.org.uk/funding/cleanupgrant/ for more information and to apply for grants for their area.
