GRAB your pyjamas and get active – that’s the message from a Bromsgrove fitness coach who is running a virtual pilates class to raise funds for the NHS Charities Together.
The 60-minute session, at 8pm on Monday, July 6, via Zoom, takes place the day after the NHS’ 72nd birthday.
Although it is a free class, Claire Cross hopes those joining in will donate £5 to the cause via her fund-raising page.
Claire knows how stressful life is at the moment with working from home, home-schooling and looking after the children.
The Pilates in Pajamas class is aimed at helping people get a good night’s sleep.
She said: “Poor sleep and stress have a really detrimental effect on our health and wellbeing so it is important to find ways of unwinding after a long busy day.
“Doing some gentle exercise, deep breathing and guided meditation is the perfect remedy.”
The 40-year-old who is also a trainee Hypnotherapist wants to use her knowledge of Fitness Pilates combined with the deep relaxation tools she is learning on her hypnotherapy course to design a Pilates Class with a difference.
She added: “I love Pilates and always feel completely chilled out after doing a class, and so do my participants.
“I want this class to be totally relaxing and to give people time to focus on how their bodies feel.”
A really special part of the class will be a 20-minute Guided Relaxation at the end where Claire will use her training to take participants into a completely relaxed state so that they are ready for a deep restorative sleep.
“So grab your comfiest pair of Pyjamas and come and join in,” said Claire.
