THE LICKEY End Striders running group were visited by a crew from Bromsgrove Fire Station on Monday who gave them a talk on water safety.
The firefighters gave helpful tips about running alongside canals and rivers.
It was part of the service’s #bewateraware campaign for runners and walkers.
Among the advice put forward was not to run too close to the edge of waterways, run in groups where possible, not to run in areas where the water levels were too high, wear proper footwear and be aware of slip hazards.
Lickey End Striders’ coach Dylan Gould said: “We are grateful the team took time to visit our group.”
