BROMSGROVE District Housing Trust has just been ranked the best place to work in the UK.

The company accepted the accolade at the Great Place to Work awards show in London on May 3, beating the competition in the ‘Medium Sized Businesses’ category.

BDHT is a non-profit organization, first established in 2004, which provides affordable housing to people in Bromsgrove and the surrounding area. It is also the second largest employer in the district, with 3,927 properties, which makes 98 per cent employee approval rating even more impressive.

BDHT’s chief executive Mike Brown said; “I am absolutely delighted and humbled by this recognition.

“We are passionate about the work we do with the community and I am pleased to see each and every employee at BDHT embodies this spirit.

“Fundamentally, when staff are loyal, engaged and happy, they in turn are able to provide the highest level or serving to our customers.”

Great Place to Work’s judging system uses both a detailed employee survey and rigorous audit into BDHT’s management and HR.

Tom O’Byrne, CEO of Great Place to Work, said: “It is no coincidence that high trust organisations like BDHT also tend to perform better than their peers.”

By coming in first out of the entire United Kingdom, BDHT has now automatically been entered into the 100 Best Places to Work in Europe awards which will be announced in June.
