Bromsgrove District Council offering grants of up to £750 for community, voluntary and charity projects

Bromsgrove Editorial 14th May, 2021   0

COMMUNITY groups, voluntary organisations and charities can apply for up to £750 grants for local projects.

The Equality Small Grants Scheme, run by Bromsgrove District Council, offers funding for activities which address community issues and support wider community involvement and equality.

The grants run in line with the financial year so this tranche of funding id for projects being delivered between July 1 and March 31, 2022.

Applications need to be with the council by June 9 and groups are asked to only bid for the amount they actually need as they will have to justify their application.

The approval process and shortlisting of applications will be completed during June with funds becoming available to organisations from July 1.

There is a £10,000 budget for this year’s Small Grants Scheme, and it is hoped it will enable smaller VCS groups in the district to make their projects a reality.

Larger voluntary, charitable or community organisations or projects that require more than £750 to be delivered, should consider applying for the Community Grants Scheme 2021/22 instead.

Bromsgrove District Council leader, Coun Karen May, said: “The voluntary and community sector provides valuable services to our residents and the district, and we are pleased to support small projects that can make a big difference.

“The pandemic has been difficult for everyone, so hopefully this funding will go towards some exciting and essential VCS projects which will bring our communities together as we navigate our way to another new normal.

“If you or your community group could benefit from this kind of funding to run a project, please do get in touch.”

Historically, these projects have helped support older people, young people, men, women, people with a disability, members of the LGBT community and different race and religious groups.
