BROMSGROVE District Council has apologised after the gates of Sanders Park car park were left closed and locked up on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day.
A concerned resident told the paper it led to a lot of congestion in the area with people being forced to park outside the gates and up and down the road.
A spokesperson for the authority told The Standard: “The park is open to pedestrians 365 days of the year.
“Due to security management issues from the team working for STW in the park, which have now been resolved, the gates were secure on Christmas eve which meant they could not be opened.
“This also happened on New Year’s Day.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused during the festive period.”
