BROMSGROVE councillor Kyle Daisley has been elected as Worcestershire County Council’s youngest-ever chairman.

Coun Daisley, who has been representing Bromsgrove South on the county council since 2019, will succeed Coun Chris Rogers in the role for the 2023/24 civic year.

During that time, Coun Daisley has been Chairman of the Children and Families Panel and began leading the Scrutiny task group looking into Children’s Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

Coun Alan Amos has been appointed Vice Chairman for the new Civic year.

Coun Daisley said:  “It is a great privilege to be the youngest Chairman the County Council has ever had.

“I will be focusing on bringing communities together, support for improving mental health and ensuring that young people have a voice in shaping Worcestershire’s future.

“During my year I will be visiting all areas of the County and wish to support community initiatives, events and projects.

“I believe that Worcestershire has a bright future and by working together we can make the county an even better place to live, work and visit.”
