Bromsgrove Couch to 5k runners urged to 'continue their journey'

A COLLABORATIVE Couch to 5k programme has highlighted Bromsgrove’s rich running community.

The nine-week was organised by a host of the district’s running groups and all participants came together last week for a graduation and celebration.

The scheme saw runners join groups including Run Catshill, Catshill Chatty Runners, Cofton Park Runners and Avoncroft Hurriers at the event in Sanders Park last Thursday.

Organisers praised the runners for completing their 5k with ‘flying colours’ and urged the graduates to continue their running journeys with the support of their respective groups and coaches.

Anyone who can run 5k in around 45 minutes or less is welcome to join the groups at any of their regular sessions.

A new Couch to 5k programme is planned for September.

Bridget Haw, founder and coach of Run Catshill group, said: “There are so many friendly and supportive running groups in Bromsgrove and c25k graduates are always welcome to come along and give them a try.”

Each group has a Facebook page or can be contacted through RunTogether
