Pradeep Chaudhari said a prayer during the service which brought together people from different faiths, along with those with no faith.

At the Bromsgrove service, there were pupils from several schools in Bromsgrove, including Alvechurch Middle, Aston Fields Middle, Parkside Middle, St John’s Middle, Catshill Middle, Rigby Hall School, Bromsgrove School, Woodrush High and North Bromsgrove High.

Woodrush High School students performed a song there.

Afterwards, Bromsgrove District Council Chairman, Coun Evans, laid a floral wreath at the Holocaust memorial in Sanders Park.

This year marks the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp.
