Bromsgrove Community Arts clarifies situation on parking charges at Artrix car park

BROMSGROVE Community Arts (BCA), which runs Artrix, has moved to clarify the situation surrounding parking at the venue.

The Standard was contacted by residents as the Parking Eye machines in the car park, which is owned by HoW College, had been uncovered.

Parking was made free for Artrix users last year when the venue returned, following an agreement between the BCA and the college.

And the BCA has confirmed that will still be the case, as long as Artrix users make sure they put their registration number in the Parking Eye touch pad screen (pictured below) in the venue’s foyer.

In a statement, the BCA said: “Please note that the ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) parking system at Artrix has been reinstated.

“We kindly ask all visitors to check the car park signage and ensure that they enter their vehicle registration details on the tablet in the foyer if attending before 7pm.”

For those arriving after 7PM for an evening performance, parking is free, and there is no need for people to provide their registration number.

Artrix has gone from strength-to-strength since it returned as an arts venue with a full programme of events and activities. Since then, visitors and audiences have flocked back and been full of praise for the live entertainment.

The venue has just finished a successful pantomime run and has a full programme going forward for 2025.

We reported in October that talks were ongoing between the venue’s holding trust, the district council and Bromsgrove Community Arts to secure a long-term deal to ensure the venue remains open for the next three years.
