PRIZES were given out to environmentally-conscious Bromsgrovians following a poetry competition organised by a town campaign group.
Bromsgrove Climate Action held its event at the town’s library and presented 12 prizes in total – nine for children and three for adults.
Published poet Jenna Plewes read the poems and presented the prizes with two of the children choosing to read their own.
Anna Dear and Sue Richards from Greening the Furrow, a local poetry group, selected the winners.
A Bromsgrove Climate Action spokesperson said: “A big thank-you to them and to Amy Taylor from Aston Fields Middle School who encouraged so many children to take part.
“All the entries were lovely and it was a pleasure to read them all.
“Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the whole event.
“Overall it was a great success and hopefully we will do it again.”
