BROMSGROVE’S All Saints Church, Burcot Lane, will be offering a ‘behind the scenes’ look during Heritage Open Weekend from 10am to 4pm next Saturday and Sunday, September 9 and 10.

A special display will ‘Unwrap The Creativity’ of local people with a collection of paintings all done by artists from the area.

One, Tony Turpin, will be showcasing an artist at work and there will be more amazing pieces by former local artist Mary Long, including paintings, drawings and a large bedspread.

Other works will include pottery, fine woodwork carved on board ship, textiles and various other crafts.

Visitors can make a peg doll following Mary Long’s guidelines and contribute to a flower display for a church windowsill.

A large sale of good quality second-hand books will take place with cash raised going to the church and there will be hot drinks available.

And at 2pm on Saturday, the The Villeins group will sing a range of songs from the 16th century to The Beatles.

There is no charge for entry but any donations will be shared between Worcestershire and Dudley Historic Churches Trust and All Saints’ Organ Renewal Fund.

Tessa Carrick, from the church, said: “Do come along – there will be plenty for everyone to see this year.”
