Bromsgrove children and young people urged to get creative and submit work for online exhibition

Bromsgrove Editorial 13th Mar, 2022   0

YOUNG people, schools and groups across Bromsgrove district are being urged to create some art work and submit it for an online exhibition due to be held later this year.

It is being put together by Creative Art Showcase – a not-for-profit organisation based in the town on a mission to bring art and creativity to communities across the district, whilst fund-raising for local and regional charities.

Last year it raised funds for NSPCC and Dodford Children’s Farm. This year cash collected from Creative Art Showcase 22 will go to Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and The Woodland Trust.

The theme for this year’s Young Creators Online Exhibition is ‘Our Earth Matters’ so contributors should base their art on nature, wildlife, environment or the destruction humans are inflicting on the planet.

Children and young people can submit works individually or through a school or youth group or club.

The exhibition is open to all young people from reception to year 11 in Bromsgrove District, regardless of if they access school.

Work can be paintings, drawings, sculpture, a collage or even a video.

Entrants should photograph their piece and submit the picture.

The organisers said they are ‘super excited’ to see what the young people come up with.

The deadline for entries is April 30 and every piece of art will be displayed.

Judges will then decide on the best piece for each year group between June 16 and 30.

There will be a showcase at Bromsgrove School on October 29 and 30, a screen displaying the exhibition will also be set up at a Creative Art in the Park event and Severn Arts – which has partnered the Creative Arts Showcase – will also screen it at Worcester Cathedral.

Visit creativeartshowcase.org for more information and inspirational videos and email pieces to [email protected] to be considered.
