Bromsgrove Editorial 15th Jul, 2022   0

BROMSGROVE Carnival returns this weekend for the first time in three years.

Tonight (Friday), Cool Runnings – chosen via a Facebook vote – will be screened at the open air cinema in Sanders Park.

Gates open at 7.30pm and the film starts at 9.30pm. Admission is free but donations are welcome for Bromsgrove Scouts, The Basement Project and Sense.

Tomorrow (Saturday) there will be the carnival parade of lorry floats led by Bromsgrove Town Crier Kevin Ward.

Themed on the Commonwealth Games, it will start at 12pm in School Drive and travel along Stratford Road, Market Street and St John Street.

There will be disruption on those roads and Kidderminster Road will be shut from 12pm to 4pm.

In the park will be the arena with live music, stalls and a fairground.

At 5pm there will be the children’s fun run around the park and the popular Timberhonger 10k challenge from 6pm as well as a 5k event starting 10 minutes later

Road closures will be in place.
