Bromsgrove care home staff braving head shave for three good causes

IT WILL be ‘hair today, gone tomorrow’ for three colleagues at a Bromsgrove care home who are braving a shave for charity.

Nicola Burton, Shelley Tapper and Gail Bessant who work at Chandler Court will be losing their locks on August 19 to raise funds for the Blue Cross, the Basement Project and the home’s residents’ fund.

It came about after the trio were talking about not being able to get a hair cut during the lockdown and it was suggested they have their heads shaved for good local causes in their hearts.

Nicola said: “We want to do something for the residents after a tough few months, one of the staff members has been helped by the Basement Project and a couple of us have had rescued animals from the Blue Cross.

“It’ll be strange having less hair than my husband for a while but it will grow back.”

The group have set themselves a fund-raising target of £1,000 and are currently up to £360.
