FEELGOOD musical Grease was the theme for a day of music for residents at Bromsgrove’s Heathbrook House care home.
It was the latest in a series of events to keep people’s spirits up at the Bupa care home during the Coronavirus lockdown.
Everyone spent the morning watching Grease in the cinema room, whilst the afternoon was spent with a live karaoke session, with staff and residents singing along to their favourite songs from the musical.
Whilst singing and dancing along to the classic tunes, the residents also enjoyed hot dogs and doughnuts in the spirit of the American movie.
The day was topped off with fancy dress outfits for everyone involved, including staff members dressing up as John Travolta’s Danny Zuko, Stockard Channing’s Betty Rizzo and Olivia Newton-John’s Sandy Olsson.
Home manager Natasha Walmsley said: “It’s important we keep everyone’s spirits up during lockdown and dressing up as Grease characters did exactly that.
“The residents absolutely loved the whole day, from the cinema in the morning to karaoke in the afternoon.
“We wanted to do something that everyone would enjoy, and seeing the residents faces light up made it all worth it.”
