Bromsgrove care home resident gives snapshot of his life's passions in exhibition

A CHANDLER Court resident showcased his photography skills in a special exhibition of his work.

Horace Pritchett, aged 94, displayed photographs of landscapes, interiors and people in the care home coffee shop for his family and friends to view.

Horace has been passionate about photography since he was a teenager, travelling around the world to capture new environments including his previous home country Australia.

His portfolio of work has been built up over 80 years and he was an active member of Ringwood Photography club and Bromsgrove Photographic Society for almost 30 years.




The guest speaker at the exhibition was professional photographer Jay Morgan, who along with the other visitors admired Horace’s photographs talked about the medium and asked for advice.

Horace said: “I really enjoyed showing everyone my photographs and talking about my hobby, it was nice to meet Jay too, a young photographer who shares the same passion.”


Vongai Mushinga, Home Manager at Chandler Court, said: “We were delighted to showcase Horace’s artistic talents for residents and relatives to enjoy.

“It was lovely to hear Horace discussing his photographs, camera types and inspiration behind them.

“Horace’s creativity inspires many here at Chandler Court”.
