GENEROUS residents at a Bromsgrove care home have raised nearly £200 for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

The residents from Cofton Park Manor Care Home were inspired by fellow resident Ann Cheetham who has been raising cash for the appeal every year for the last 50 years.

Ann, aged 87, impressed everyone at the Lickey Road home with her enthusiasm for fundraising. they set up their very own Poppy stall inside their home.

Ann said: “I have been honoured to assist running the stand at Cofton Park Manor. It is very important that we continue this tradition and support the armed forces community.”

Cofton Park Manor Community Relations Lead Wendy Sibley, said: “It was a huge honour to hold the Poppy stall here at Cofton Park Manor and this will now certainly become one of our own traditions as we will continue to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

“We are amazed that we raised £194.42 and very inspired to do it again next year.”
