ONE of Bromsgrove High Street’s best-loved businesses has thanked customers for shopping local and supporting it during the Coronavirus pandemic.

And Butcher’s Block has seen a massive increase in its delivery service, dropping off items as far afield as Leicester – where Lilith is originally from.

The business, ran by wife and wife team, Lilith and Michelle Holsey-Sheppard, is the only all-female butchers in the Midlands, has had to ensure it has been well-stocked to cope with demand.

Staff have ramped up the ‘Nice to Meat You’ service as the locked-down public have been making the most of barbecue season arriving early across the UK.

Michelle said: “We’ve been blown away by the response from customers over the past few weeks.

“We’ve built trust with these people over the past year since we launched, so it’s humbling to have them tell us that they only want Butcher’s Block to supply their fresh meat and eggs during the lockdown.”

Lilith added: “We believe there’s a move to shopping local and supporting independents once again – and you can’t get much more local than Butcher’s Block.

“Shopping locally is also good for the economy as it promotes spending money closer to home and secures the future of our local high streets.

Orders can be made directly through the Butcher’s Block Facebook page here and over the phone, with contactless payments taken by card and delivery arranged.

The shop is also open between 8am and 2pm from Tuesday to Saturday, adhering to Government guidelines – with a strict two people at a time policy.
