Bromsgrove brothers become national karate champions

Bromsgrove Editorial 17th Dec, 2023   0

TWO BROTHERS who attend Aston Fields Middle School in Bromsgrove have become national champions in karate.

The pair competed in the GKR National Karate Championships at Ponds Forge and it turned out to be a gold rush.

They both took the top medals in the Junior (under 18) team Kata, alongside a third teammate from their Dojo.

Louis then took gold in his individual Kata, winning the final unanimously with three flags to zero, followed by another gold in his individual Kumite, making in him triple UK Champion for 2023.

Emile then went on to defend his UK title from last year, taking gold in his individual Kata, winning every round 3-0.

Unfortunately, it was not his day in Kumite, with a top 10 finish. But it did not detract from an excellent overall performance.

They will now both compete in the GKR World Cup in Australia next August as part of the GKR Great Britain team.
