THERE were a few heads turned in Bromsgrove on Saturday when bride Riah Shakespeare rode up to the historic St John’s Church on a beautiful white horse to wed Stuart Turner.
More than 60 people attended the ceremony and there were plenty of other people at the church for the annual Heritage Open Day.
The bridesmaids were Riah’s sister Esme Shakespeare and her best friends Lisa Sherlock and Melissa Pirie.
The pair’s border collies Brian and Trevor led the procession down the aisle and Brian had the important job of being ring-bearer.
The service was followed by a festival style wedding at Alcott Weddings in Alvechurch.
There – at ‘Wed Fest’ as it was dubbed, there were live bands, Yurts, posh potties and vegan food.
The happy couple, who are big festival fans, stayed in a VW Campervan that they had renovated themselves.
For their honeymoon new Mr and Mrs Turner are now planning to head off in the Campervan.
One guest said: “Riah doesn’t do things by halves – it was an amazing day and great to have been part of it.”
