Bromsgrove Blood Cancer UK Fun Run raises thousands

THIS YEAR’S Bromsgrove Blood Cancer UK Fun Run has raised more than £17,000 for the cause.

The event took place at Bromsgrove Rugby Club on May 10 and offered participants the chance to take on either a 5k or a 10k course.

Nicole Harris from Bromsgrove Blood Cancer UK said: “We raised a lot more money than last year and we still have more to come in so I am absolutely delighted.

“It was a great day and some blood cancer patients took part in our run showing there is life after blood cancer.

“I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who took part, sponsors and everyone who helped on the day.

“We had an incredible team.”

£3,000 gain from town accountants

A total of 32 members of the Ormerod Rutter Chartered Accountants team raised more than £3,000 for Blood Cancer UK after taking part in the run.

Whether it was a first-time fun run or a more seasoned effort, every member of the OR team rose to the occasion and crossed the finish line cheered on by colleagues who came out to support them at the finish.

The team said it was a cause close to their hearts as blood cancer affected thousands of families across the UK every year.

“We’re proud to play a small part in supporting the vital research and care that Blood Cancer UK provides.

“A huge thank you goes to everyone who sponsored our runners, and to the OR team members who came along on the day to cheer from the sidelines. It made all the difference.”

Next year’s fun run has already been booked and will take place on May 9, 2027, once again at Bromsgrove Rugby Club.
